What is Preaching?

I had a moment of brilliance today when my brain came up with this quote:

"Preaching is not just speaking. It is communicating. And it is not just communication to the head to impart knowledge. It is communication to the heart to draw a response."

Hmm....I'm so certain that I've heard something similar before.
